Pricing

Free in the beta. Open source always.

There is no paid Shipvo plan today. The hosted services are free while we are in beta, and everything can run on your own account. Below is what that includes, and what the same jobs cost on Expo's plans so you can compare with real numbers.

Shipvo

Hosted beta

$0
  • Control plane at api.shipvo.dev: signed pointers, cohorts, rollback.
  • Hosted simulator at sim.shipvo.dev, one sandbox per key.
  • Test key with 600 sandbox minutes, valid for 30 days; renew with shipvo login.
  • Up to 3 listed apps per account.

Self-hosted

Your Cloudflare bill
  • Apache-2.0 software, no per-user fee.
  • Control plane on Cloudflare Workers, KV and D1, set up in about ten minutes.
  • The simulator runs on your laptop or any Linux CI runner.
  • We have not measured a typical monthly figure, so we do not quote one. See Cloudflare's pricing.

After the beta

Not decided
  • The software stays open source.
  • Self-hosting stays free of Shipvo fees.
  • If hosted usage is ever charged, it will be announced here and in the changelog first.

Expo and EAS plans

The list prices from expo.dev/pricing as of 31 October 2026. Plans include build credit, so the monthly fee is not only for updates.

Worked examples

Over-the-air updates for one app, per month, using the list prices above. Builds, storage and bandwidth overage are excluded, so the real Expo bill can be higher.

Monthly active usersExpo plan and costHow it is worked outShipvo
1,000Free: $0Inside the free 1,000 MAUs.$0 hosted beta
5,000Starter: $29$19 + 2,000 × $0.005 = $10 over the included 3,000.$0 hosted beta
50,000Production: $199Starter would be $19 + 47,000 × $0.005 = $254, so Production is cheaper at this size.$0 hosted beta
100,000Production: $449$199 + 50,000 × $0.005 = $250 over the included 50,000.$0 hosted beta

Read this fairly. The Shipvo column is zero because the beta is free, not because hosting is free to run, and a young service with no paid support is not the same product as Expo's. The comparison that will hold after the beta is self-hosted: no per-user fee, and a Cloudflare bill that is yours.

Testing every pull request

The other cost is catching bugs before release. If your pipeline builds an iOS binary on EAS for each pull request to test it, that build is usage. The Shipvo simulator needs no binary, and runs on a standard Linux runner.

Pull requests per monthOne iOS build each on EASShipvo simulator tests
25$50 (medium) to $100 (large)Your CI minutes only
100$200 to $400Your CI minutes only
400$800 to $1,600Your CI minutes only

Per-build list prices from Expo: iOS $2 medium, $4 large. These are usage charges beyond your plan's build credit, and teams can also test on their own macOS runners instead. The simulator does not replace a native test: it answers a different question, quickly and cheaply. How they differ.
